Anonymous quotes show why one of the latest updates on Tennessee Vols 2027 recruiting target David Gabriel Georges is completely absurd

2027 five-star running back David Gabriel Georges is the Tennessee Volunteers’ top recruiting target. Gabriel Georges, though, is no longer rated as a five-star recruit by one national recruiting service.

Five-star running back David Gabriel Georges is the Tennessee Vols’ top 2027 recruiting target.

Gabriel Georges, 6-foot/205 lbs, is viewed as one of the best high school football players in the nation. The native of Canada currently attends Baylor School in Chattanooga, and he’s ranked as the No. 1 player in the state of Tennessee.

Nearly everyone seems to agree that Gabriel Georges is a generational prospect.

Everyone that is except for On3/Rivals, who recently “demoted” Gabriel Georges to a four-star prospect (247Sports still has Gabriel Georges rated as a five-star running back).

Some recent anonymous quotes (via 247Sports), however, show why taking Gabriel Georges’ fifth star away may have been a big mistake.

College football sources believe David Gabriel Georges may be the best recruit in the nation

Several college football sources spoke to 247Sports’ Tom Loy this week about Gabriel Georges’ potential.

Those sources made it clear that the running back is on a different level as a recruit.

“He is the best player in the country,” said one college source to Loy. “No, not just running back. He is the best prospect in the 2027 class.”

“This class is loaded with talent, but DGG is the best player we’ve evaluated,” said a college coach. “I guess it’s close, but there isn’t a bigger priority for us.”

“He’s the best back we’ve scouted in years,” added another source to Loy.

I don’t know what all went into On3’s decision to move Gabriel Georges from a five-star recruit to a four-star recruit, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see them reverse that decision at some point over the next few months.

It’s obvious from Loy’s reporting that the Baylor School standout is viewed as a recruit who has the potential to be one of college football’s next great players.
