Recruiting analyst predicts the Tennessee Vols will make a big addition before Thanksgiving
The Tennessee Vols could be on the verge of making a big recruiting splash next week.
The Tennessee Vols could be on the verge of adding a four-star commit to their 2027 recruiting class.
On3’s Steve Wiltfong predicted on Thursday that Tennessee will land a commitment from 2027 four-star defensive lineman Kadin Fife.
Fife is set to announce his commitment on Nov. 21. Auburn, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, and Texas A&M are Fife’s finalists.
Wiltfong noted that Texas A&M was previously trending for Fife, but the feeling now is that the four-star defensive lineman will commit to Tennessee next week.
Fife, 6-5, 295 pounds from Summerville, GA, is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 31 defensive lineman in the nation and the No. 32 player in the state of Georgia. He’s also rated as the No. 269 overall player in the 2027 recruiting class.
Tennessee’s 2027 recruiting efforts are about to kick up a notch
Tennessee currently has three players committed to its 2027 recruiting class.
The early signing period for the 2026 recruiting cycle begins in a few weeks. At that point, most of the Vols’ focus will shift to the 2027 class.
And the crown jewel in the 2027 class is five-star running back David Gabriel Georges, a player that Tennessee currently has the momentum for.
“Ohio State and Georgia are the other two teams (in the mix for Gabriel Georges),” said VolQuest’s Austin Price earlier this month. “Tennessee is, to me, the team to beat right now. They have the most momentum as we head off into the high school playoffs. I don’t think he’ll take another visit this year. I think the likelihood is [that] he’s done.
“Tennessee’s got a lot of momentum there. They’ll just have to keep the momentum. That thing will drag into next year — like 90 percent of the recruitments will. And so you just have to keep the momentum. But currently, right now, they have a lot of momentum. And having Gabe Osenda and having Jamyan Theodore, two of his teammates, committed here, that’s huge for Tennessee. Because he is very relationship based, and he’s very tight with those kids.”
Recruiting never ever stops in college football.
