The Tennessee Vols will be taking on the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Saturday in Knoxville, but with a look they've been sporting more in recent years that's a nod to one of the greatest coaches in basketball history.
The Vols will be donning their traditional orange tops and white bottoms with their white helmets, but they'll be adding some Summitt blue accessories, per a tweet by the program's Twitter/X account.
The Vols had a similar look last year for their homecoming game against UConn. It's a fitting time for their use, as November is Alzheimer's awareness month. Summitt passed away from the disease in 2016, but her legacy lives on through the Pat Summitt Foundation with its goal of furthering Alzheimer's research.
Summitt was trailblazer for the sport of women's basketball. Across her career that spanned 38 seasons, Summitt led the Lady Vols to 16 SEC tournament titles, 16 SEC regular season titles, 18 Final Four appearances, and 8 national championships.
In addition to last year, Tennessee had a similar look in 2022 when they faced UT-Martin.
The Vols and Bulldogs will kick off Saturday at 7:00 pm ET on ESPN from Neyland Stadium.
