Brutal news for a future Hall of Famer just became great news for Christian Moore
Vol fans will have a little bit more reason to stay up late at night thanks to some tough injury news for the Angels’ biggest star.
Los Angeles Angels superstar Mike Trout has had a rough go of things health wise for the last several years. The future Hall of Famer has appeared in more than 82 games just twice since the end of the 2019 season due to various ailments.
2026 has been a different story for the Angels’ slugger. He’s appeared in 74 games for LA so far, and he’s posted 17 home runs and 36 RBIs to go with an .866 OPS. It’s been a solid year for Trout, and one that’s put him on pace to appear in his first All-Star Game since 2023.
Well, until Thursday, that is. According to The Athletic’s Sam Blum, Trout is going on the injured list with a hamstring injury, which clouds his availability for the All-Star Game to some degree.
As a result, former Tennessee star Christian Moore is getting the call up back to the Angels.

Moore has been on fire at the Triple-A level this season for the Salt Lake Bees of the Pacific Coast League. He’s been raking with a .333 batting average to do with a 1.053 OPS, 9 home runs, 45 RBIs, a .468 on base percentage, and 10 steals.
That’s a good omen for his return to the big leagues, where he spent a sizeable chunk of the 2025 season. He appeared in 53 games last season for the Angels batting .198 with a .655 OPS, but he slugged 7 home runs in 184 plate appearances.
Moore returns to the show with experience and on a hot streak. We’ll see if he can earn an extended stay in Anaheim over the coming weeks.
