The Tennessee Vols' hot streak continued on Thursday afternoon with the commitment of three-star running back Tiyon Evans, who is rated as the top JuCo running back in the nation.

Evans, 5-foot-10/225 lbs from Hartsville, SC, attends the same junior college (Hutchinson community college) as former Vols Alvin Kamara and Cordarrelle Patterson. He committed to Tennessee over South Carolina.

The South Carolina native told 247Sports after his commitment that he believes he has a lot of opportunities at UT.

Evans mentioned that while South Carolina would've been a great option, but he chose Tennessee for a very specific season.

Vols running backs coach Jay Graham.

Evans said he researched Graham and South Carolina's running backs coach Des Kitchings.

"Just comparing the running back coach at Tennessee and the running back coach at South Carolina and their history. And Tennessee’s history is amazing. That’s the place", said Evans to 247Sports.

I don't think there's a lot of negative things to say about Kitchings (other than he didn't fare so well as a co-offensive coordinator at NC State). So this just speaks to the respect that recruits have for Graham as a coach.

One of the main reasons that Jeremy Pruitt hired Graham (aside from his ability to develop players) was to improve Tennessee's recruiting in the Carolinas.

So far, Graham is knocking it out of the park.

Evans will be a perfect fit with the Vols. He's a bruising back that will be hard to tackle. He'll also be able to effectively wear down opposing defenses, which is necessary to win in the SEC.

The three-star running back told 247Sports that he plans to graduate in December and enroll at Tennessee.

(Note: Before I was able to finish writing this, the Vols received yet another commitment, this time from five-star linebacker Terrence Lewis….Tennessee recruiting is insane right now.)
