With free agency kicking off this week, the 2025 NFL Draft will soon be all everyone can talk about. We are starting to get a much deeper understanding of team needs, and what prospects could potentially fit. Mock drafts are about to mean a whole lot more.
As is typically the case, there are going to be some draft prospects who are seriously undervalued. We have all done a mock draft in the past and thought, “there is no way that player is going to be there in the sixth round.” You’re right! Here are some of those undervalued players who are going a lot higher than currently projected by some.
Jalen Royals, WR, Utah State
In a less than stellar 2025 wide receiver class, Royals has a chance to continue rising. He is coming off of a 2025 NFL Scouting Combine where he ran the forty-yard dash in 4.42 seconds. Royals is a densely built wideout who can play both slot and at Z with his craftiness, explosiveness, and YAC talent. Don’t be surprised if Royals ends up being a top 64 selection in the end.
Anthony Belton, OT, NC State
This 2025 class is desperate for offensive tackles. In a draft that is much better on the interior, the supply for tackles is not going to quite fulfill the demand. Belton is one player who feels like a certainty on Day Two (rounds 2-3) right now. He has the size, length, and foot quickness that teams will love to develop.
CJ West, DT, Indiana
West is one of the players people need to start talking about a whole lot more. After being an impact defender for Kent State in his career, West became one of the very best defensive tackles in college football this past season for the Hoosiers. West has now stacked a great 2024 season with strong performances at the 2025 East-West Shrine Bowl and at the Combine. He feels like a lock to be selected in Top 125 selections, and possibly in the top 100.
Jared Ivey, EDGE, Ole Miss
People are constantly searching for flash coming off the edge, but that can cause us to underrate talented players like Ivey. At around 6-6 and 274 pounds, Ivey is a versatile player that can do a lot for a defense. Ivey can rush from multiple alignments, and is an impact run defender. This is the type of defensive lineman that goes under the radar but is an impact member of a defense for a long time.
Jonas Sanker, S, Virginia
It’s a very strong 2025 safety class, but Sanker is a very important part of that equation. At 206 pounds, Sanker ran a 4.48-second forty-yard dash and jumped well. He is an explosive downhill player that is experienced, and extremely productive. That should earn Sanker a slot on Day Two.
