Wide receivers Ja’Marr Chase (concussion) was back at practice Thursday after missing Wednesday, a great sign of his progress through the concussion protocol. Chase will need a full practice before officially clearing the protocol, but Thursday was a definite positive sign for him potentially playing Sunday.
WR Tee Higgins (groin/neck) and safety Bryan Cook (ankle) started off practice on the rehab field, and only Cook actually practiced. The Cincinnati native went limited. He told WLWT’s Charlie Clifford he’s “very hopeful” to play against the Dolphins. Fellow starting S Jordan Battle was upgraded to full after being limited for most of the last two weeks. Backup linebacker Swayze Bozeman (groin) went limited after missing Wednesday. Backup S Kyle Dugger (quadricep) did not practice again, It is not expected for Dugger to play this week.
LB Barrett Carter (ankle) and WR Colbie Young (knee) went full, while defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence II (wrist) remained limited and right guard Dalton Risner (knee) remained limited with their respective injuries. DT B.J. Hill (achilles) was limited after going full Wednesday, so Friday’s practice will be quite telling for him. DT Jonathan Allen was a DNP again, though it’s likely load management for the 31-year-old.
