The Cincinnati Bengals’ annual training camp practice inside Paycor Stadium did not go exactly as planned. Inclement weather forced the team to practice inside their indoor facility, and fans that had arrived at the stadium to watch practice had to wait over an hour for the team to return and finish the session on their home field.
The fans who waited, however, were gifted with a vintage Joe Burrow to Ja’Marr Chase moment.

For what feels like the first time all training camp, Burrow connected with Chase deep down the field. The reaction from the dwindled crowd was still quite electric for how many fans remained.
This is precisely what keeps defensive coordinators up at night when the Bengals are next on the schedule. Burrow has been doing this for the last seven years going back to his second and final year at LSU. Chase has been doing it for just as long with Burrow as the two of them dominated college football in 2019, and have carried that domination into the NFL for Cincinnati.
But we haven’t seen it unfold like this in training camp until now. The Bengals offense has been experimenting with parts of the playbook that need work, and on the times that Burrow has attacked down the field, he hasn’t been able to connect as much as he would want.
One of the defenses, newest additions took note of that earlier in the week.
Chase responds to Bryan Cook in an emphatic way
Safety Bryan Cook clapped back at Chase in the locker room Tuesday, claiming he hasn’t caught a deep pass all camp.
Who was the closest defender to Chase on that play? You guessed it. The Cincinnati native who got the best of Burrow on Tuesday with a pick-six.
Cook and the defensive had plenty of wins this month. The offense was due to generate some explosive plays. Burrow and Chase weren’t the only two responsible for one Friday night.
Running back Chase Brown also got loose on an under center run, taking it 60 yards all the way to the house.
It’s only fitting the strength of the Bengals shows itself in the first and only practice inside the stadium in which they’ll play eight home games this year. Fans know they can expect points and fireworks when this team takes the field.
It was about time Burrow and his pals reminded everyone what they’re capable of.
