Trey Hendrickson’s Ravens teammate makes bold prediction that would be bad news for Bengals

Trey Hendrickson is getting ready to face off against the Cincinnati Bengals for the first time since joining the Baltimore Ravens. One of his teammates is anticipating a great game from him.
Ravens linebacker Trenton Simpson is calling his shot for Hendrickson to sack Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow at least twice on Sunday.
“Man, I am excited to see him against his former team,” Simpson said of Hendrickson to reporters Wednesday. “The things he’s doing in practice, the way he rushed the passer, and just how he get off the ball. Man, I believe that this game for him is about to be like one of those ones, like multiple-sack games. So I’m calling it. I’m excited to see the celebration he does, you know. So I’m excited.”
Hendrickson has two sacks in four games with Baltimore this season. He produced 13 double-digit sack outings during his five seasons in Cincinnati. The Bengals went 10-3 in those games. If Hendrickson gets to Burrow multiple times, there’s a good chance the Ravens come out victorious.
But Simpson’s not the only one who will be excited on the field.
Joe Burrow looking forward to facing Trey Hendrickson
Burrow has practiced against Hendrickson many a time over the years, but the two have never been opponents in a real game before.
There’s no confusion on what he’s expecting from No. 91, now in purple instead of orange.
“It’ll be fun, it’ll be fun,” Burrow said of seeing Hendrickson rushing at him. “I got to practice with him for a long time, and I’m sure he’s excited to hit me a little bit after not hitting me for so long. It’ll be fun.”
Hendrickson experienced the best years of his career on the team Burrow quarterbacked. The two nearly won a Super Bowl together, and almost made it back to another one a year later. Those memories are now an afterthought with undeniably high stakes in this matchup.
The Bengals would like to avoid an 0-2 start in AFC North play. A loss would also drop them back to .500 at 3-3 overall. The Ravens just lost to the Cleveland Browns, and a second straight divisional defeat would set them back as well.
How effectively Burrow evades his former teammate may determine the outcome in this game. Simpson is expecting greatness in Hendrickson’s first chance at revenge, but Cincinnati is also looking for validation in moving on from the four-time Pro Bowler.
They’ll undoubtedly receive it if Burrow leaves the game untouched and standing.
