The Cleveland Browns have made it through the majority of NFL training camp with just one preseason game remaining on Thursday against the New England Patriots. It will be the last game environment for Browns roster bubble players to push for a final spot, as Cleveland has most of its roster figured out at this point with a few decisions still to be made.

When it comes to this final preseason game, several players will be in a Browns uniform for the last time, whether they’re healthy and playing or standing on the sideline. A handful of names stick out as candidates to be gone before the 53-man roster deadline.

Dillon Gabriel’s days as a Brown appear numbered

The Browns took quarterback Dillon Gabriel in the third round of last year’s draft, and the plug was pulled on him rather quickly for Shedeur Sanders after last season. Gabriel hasn’t been a starter since, and he’s not in the mix to start in 2026. At best, he’s going to be Cleveland’s third quarterback, and keeping Gabriel over rookie quarterback Taylen Green just doesn’t make sense at this point. Gabriel is a player the Browns would love to get back to their practice squad if they can, and there’s a good chance they will.

Cedric Tillman’s availability issues are the nail in the coffin 

Wide receiver Cedric Tillman is another player whose days in a Browns uniform are numbered. Tillman has not been playing for the Browns lately due to an injury, and availability has been a consistent problem throughout his time in Cleveland. He’s been inconsistent on the field, and much of the time he’s been off the field entirely. Tillman has already been replaced by Denzel Boston as the Browns‘ starting X receiver, and if Cleveland could move him in a trade, it would be worth exploring. He’s a player in the final year of his rookie contract, and there’s no future in Cleveland for him.

The offensive tackle battle between Dawand Jones and KT Leveston could eliminate one of them

Somewhat of a surprise name might be offensive tackle Dawand Jones, who is playing for a roster spot on Thursday. Not only did he lose the left tackle battle to rookie Spencer Fano (as expected), but he’s also battling to be the team’s swing tackle. If he can’t win that job, it’s more likely he’s off the team. Jones has had three season-ending injuries in three years with the Browns, and it’s just hard to trust him to stay on the field. You want depth you can trust to stay healthy, and Jones hasn’t been that.

KT Leveston is in a battle with Jones to be the Browns’ swing tackle, a player who could fill in at left or right tackle. The Browns traded for Leveston last season, and he’s shown some ability at tackle, though not so much at guard where they tried him earlier in training camp. Leveston is a depth tackle at best, and we’ll see if Cleveland keeps him around. These two could be fighting for one spot.

Wide receiver depth has pushed out Malachi Corley and Gage Larvadain

Malachi Corley was on the roster last year as a back-end wide receiver the Browns liked to get into space and use in different ways, including end-arounds and handoffs on offense. Because the Browns have upgraded the wide receiver room so much this offseason, there’s just not a spot for Corley. Cleveland would love to get him back to the practice squad, but a team picking him up can’t be ruled out. He’s a capable player.

Gage Larvadain is in a similar situation. He was on the team last year, but the roster is too improved at wide receiver for him to stick around. Larvadain does have the positive of being a capable punt returner, but the Browns have other guys who can do it, including rookie KC Concepcion. Larvadain is another player the Browns would love to get back to the practice squad, but making the 53-man roster looks unlikely.
