Dallas Cowboys’ preseason darling receives the opportunity of a lifetime ahead of Monday Night Football
The Dallas Cowboys announced their inactives ahead of Monday Night Football against the Philadlephia Eagles.
For most of the season, the Dallas Cowboys have been the most banged-up team at kickoff. In the leadup to a Monday Night Football in Philadelphia, the same cannot be said. The Eagles are severely injured.
The Cowboys will take on an offense down QB Jalen Hurts, WRs DeVonta Smith and Dontavyion Wicks, and EDGE Nolan Smith. Meanwhile, Dallas is getting back a couple of defensive starters in LB DeMarvion Overshown and CB Cobie Durant.
Health is an advantage for Dallas to the point of Week 7 marking the first time since the season opener the team only lists five inactive players (the league-required minimum). Let’s dive into the list and a few notes—including WR KaVontae Turpin’s injury opening the door for a preseason darling to make his NFL debut.
Cowboys inactives
- LB Dee Winters
- RB Emari Demercado
- OL Drew Shelton
- OLB Tyrus Wheat
- WR KaVontae Turpin
Other notes on Cowboys inactives
- With Turpin out, undrafted rookie wide receiver Camden Brown is suiting up for his NFL debut. In the preseason, Brown turned heads left and right. He recorded six catches for 166 yards and two touchdowns. He will likely focus on special teams but watch out for him getting some reps at wide receiver.
- Overshown is back, but LB Dee Winters is out for this one. Expect Overshown to take his snaps as the weak-side linebacker while rookie Jaishawn Barham stays at middle linebacker.
- James Houston is active in place of Tyrus Wheat. The outside linebacker was a standout getting after the QB in the preseason. We’ll monitor how he does in his 2026 debut.
- No practice squad elevations for the Cowboys this Monday, a sign of their overall health.
Eagles inactives
Something to watch out for: QB Joe Milton is the backup behind Tanner McKee. If the Eagles quarterback struggles, don’t be surprised if Philly turns to Milton against his former team. Below is the full inactives on the Eagles’ side.
