No one wants to admit it, but Broncos linebacker Alex Singelton’s agent isn’t wrong for his viral rant
The agent of Denver Broncos linebacker Alex Singleton has heard enough.
Denver Broncos linebacker Alex Singleton has been a big target in the media this week due to his five missed tackles in the season-opening loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Some websites have vilified the linebacker for his missed tackles, and others have questioned why he didn’t show more “urgency” in his post-game interview.
Singleton’s agent, Paul Sheehy, took to Twitter on Thursday to address the outrage.
“The level of sheer ignorance of Broncos bloggers and self proclaimed ‘journalists’ continues to amaze and has never been higher,” tweeted Sheehy. “I get it, rage baiting a passionate fan base gets clicks, but it doesn’t take away from the ignorance or incompetence on display.”

Look, there’s no doubt that Denver could’ve played better on Monday night against the Chiefs. But as I wrote on Tuesday, I think this game was an outlier. The Chiefs were juiced up for Patrick Mahomes’ return from injury, and the Broncos were feeling themselves a bit after an offseason of hype. These kinds of games happen. It was the perfect storm for a bad performance.
As for Singleton, I mean, he currently leads the NFL in tackles with 16. It was a physical game and the Broncos’ defense was on the field a lot. He made 76 percent of the plays that came his way. If he makes just a couple of those missed tackles, then the narrative shifts from him having a “bad game” to having one of the best games a linebacker will have all season.
The Chiefs made plays on Monday night. Sometimes it’s about what the other team did more than what one team didn’t do. You have to give the Chiefs players credit for making plays.
Singleton and the Broncos made plays, too, by the way. They just didn’t make enough plays.
All Singleton can do is flip the page to the next game. There’s nothing to gain by lingering on the loss to the Chiefs. There are 16 more games to play this season and all of the Broncos’ goals are obviously still attainable.
