The Detroit Lions have been dealing with three big injuries on their defensive line this season. Levi Onwuzurike, Marcus Davenport, and Josh Paschal have been out much of the season. Going into their Thanksgiving matchup with the Packers, the Lions looked poised to get both Davenport and Paschal back just in time. Now things have gone a different direction.

The Lions did not activate Josh Paschal. He is now out for the rest of the season

This is a pretty heartbreaking turn of events for Paschal. After going through back surgery and missing all of training camp, he had finally had his 21-day clock started on November 5th, and he had been at practice every day and went from a limited participant to a full participant. Then one day, before he was expected to be activated, he was out of practice with a back injury.

There was some thought that maybe the Lions might still be able to activate him anyway, and it was something minor he’d need a little time to get over, but that is not the case. The deadline has come and gone, and Paschal is now done for the year and possibly done with the Lions altogether. He is a free agent after this season.
