Kansas City Chiefs' defensive tackle Chris Jones was a man on a mission during the Chiefs 13-12 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers.
Jones needed to record a sack to reach 10 on the season, which would give him a $1.25 million contract incentive. He wound up achieving that goal, but it wasn't easy. It took him until deep into the third quarter to get the sack. After the game Jones revealed that he wasn't originally supposed to play for that long.
Jones was also very humble and thankful for his teammates and coaches' efforts in helping him, saying that he was going to buy them all Rolex watches.
Coach Andy Reid spoke to reporters after the game about how much the sack meant to Jones and the team.
"You could see by the response by the players it meant a bunch," Reid said. "Not only him, but to the guys. They were all on board pulling for him, and that's kind of the neat thing about that. That's a couple of cheeseburgers that he made right there."
Jones ended up recording 12 QB pressures in his pursuit of Chargers' quarterback Easton Stick, tying for the league-high on the season. When Jones finally got the sack, it gave the team a noticeable boost of energy.
As the Chiefs enter the postseason, it's been good to see them letting a little loose and having fun over the past two games considering the rough patch they went through beforehand.
