The Kansas City Chiefs will wrap up the preseason this week with their lone game on home turf, this time against the NFC North’s Chicago Bears.

The Chiefs will face the Bears at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in preseason Week 3 on Friday, Aug. 22, at 8:20 p.m. ET. Both Ben Johnson and Andy Reid have confirmed that starters will get some playing time in the preseason finale, which is a departure from the norm for Kansas City. Typically, the preseason finale is a game reserved for backups and younger players to make a final impression on the coaching staff ahead of roster cuts, while putting together more game tape for 31 other NFL teams. That’s still going to be the case, but don’t be surprised when the starters on both sides of the ball play for at least two series.

Here’s everything you need to know to take in the game on Friday:

How to watch, listen to, and stream the Chiefs’ preseason Week 3 game against the Bears

Just like the first preseason game of 2025, the Chiefs’ preseason Week 3 game against the Bears will not be carried live nationally on NFL Network. It will, however, be rebroadcast at Midnight ET (Friday night/Saturday morning) on NFL Network.

The league’s streaming service, NFL+, will show the preseason finale live, as will local broadcast partners, KMCI-TV & KSHB-TV, for those in a local market. They also have television partners in St. Louis (KMOV, MMOV), Des Moines (KDSM), Tulsa (KJRH, KTPX), Wichita (KWCH), Arkansas (KNWA, KFTA), Columbia (KMIZ, KQFX), Joplin (KODE), St. Joseph (KQTV), Omaha (KMTV), Springfield (KOZL), & Topeka (WIBW, EIBW). Plus, the team also has broadcast partners in Alaska (KTTU, KYES, KAUU, KATH, KYEX), Hawaii (KGMB, KFVE), Mexico (FOX Sports Mexico), and Germany (DAZN NFL Gamepass).

For those who are on the move and unable to watch the game, you can listen to a live radio broadcast locally at KFNZ (96.5 FM) and WDAF (106.5 FM) or on SiriusXM channel 227.

Two injured Chiefs players could make their preseason debut, plus two more names to watch in the preseason finale against the Bears

The Chiefs are likely to see two of their injured players return for preseason Week 3. Kristian Fulton hasn’t yet played in a game since making his return from the Active/PUP list following a spring knee cleanup surgery. I’ve been expecting him to get the “Jaylen Watson treatment,” which is to say Fulton will play the bulk of the snaps in preseason Week 3 to get his conditioning up and be prepared to play in Week 1 in Brazil. That’s what the team did with Watson last year in a similar situation.

Next up is TE Jake Briningstool, who missed the majority of training camp and the first two preseason games with a hamstring injury. He was back at practice this week, which signals he could get some work in the preseason finale. I’m not confident that he’ll play quite as many snaps as Fulton, but it’d make sense to get him some work in the preseason to see what you have there.

Finally, there are two names to keep an eye on in light of the Felix Anudike-Uzomah injury. Chiefs DC Steve Spagnuolo already mentioned Malik Herring as a player who will get more opportunities this week, but look for DT Marlon Tuipulotu as well. He’s spent time on the 53-man roster in Kansas City, and the team could opt to go heavier on the interior defensive line with Anudike-Uzomah out for the season.
