The Las Vegas Raiders are one of the most revered NFL franchises of all time when it comes to how they treat their alums. They have the motto "Once a Raider, always a Raider," and it couldn't be more true.
However, one former Raiders player and a Pro Bowler at that feels like he is being mistreated, not by the Raiders, but by the NFL as a whole.
For Marquette King, a former Pro Bowl punter for the Raiders, he thinks he has been "blackballed" by the NFL.
King played for the Raiders and the Denver Broncos and then went on to play in the XFL for the St. Louis Battle Hawks. He was good, very good, but his time in the league was cut short. Why? I don't know.
Recently, a fan tweeted at King and said that it was time for King to come out of retirement. King tweeted back that he never retired; he was just blackballed from the league.
Now, I'm not sure what he means by that, or if it's even true, but, King knew how to punt the ball. You saw that when he was in the XFL, as anyone who covered the league said he was the best punter.
Now he is looking for another job. Hopefully, he gets one, and I'd love to hear more about his situation, as I'm sure others would.
