The Las Vegas Raiders have one of the best football players on the planet. I know it, you know it, everyone knows that Maxx Crosby is a guy every team in the league would love to have. But, for some reason, it feels like his value is down right now across the league.

I typed out “for some reason,” but I think we all know why. The league views Crosby’s style of play as unsustainable. And, his injuries over the last two years kind of help prove that argument, even though it’s still not valid. Despite missing his first-ever game in 2024, Crosby still had one heck of a season on a bad team. In 2025, he did the same, with ten sacks and a career high in tackles for loss. One NFL analyst doesn’t think his value is down. He said exactly what needed to be said.

ESPN analyst Bill Barnwell thinks Maxx Crosby is worth ‘one first-round pick and more’

“Crosby would still net a first-rounder, and if he’s healthy and productive to begin the season, I wouldn’t be surprised if the veteran’s value crept back up toward those two first-round picks.”

He’s 100% right. Well, actually, he is kind of wrong. He’s worth two first-round picks, which is why the Baltimore Ravens were close to doing that deal. This offseason, Crosby requested a trade quietly because he didn’t want to upset the fan base. The Raiders reportedly had a deal lined up to send him to the Baltimore Ravens for two first-round picks.

Crosby even traveled to Baltimore for a physical, which he reportedly did not pass, with the Ravens expressing concern about his long-term durability coming off knee issues. But those issues seem to be issues of the past. Crosby claims he’s close to being ready to be back out on the field. He also claims he’ll come back better than ever. Sure, everyone says that after injury. Crosby is making a promise, stamping it with his signature.

The Raiders are not trading him anytime soon, though. So, right now, this doesn’t even matter. He’s in Vegas to stay, and it still feels like he will retire a Raider.
