Jeff Hafley makes his first series of game day decisions for Miami Dolphins as Week 1 inactives are announced
The Miami Dolphins just released their inactives list for Week 1 against the Las Vegas Raiders.
You carry 53 players on an active roster. But you don’t dress 53 players on game day. For the Miami Dolphins‘ Week 1 contest against the Raiders? We now know head coach Jeff Hafley’s first round of game day decisions.
The inactives list for Week 1 has been released. And there’s a bit of a surprise for Miami’s offensive outlook for today’s game.
Wide receiver Jalen Tolbert highlights Miami Dolphins Week 1 inactives list
Veteran wide receiver Jalen Tolbert getting put down for today’s game against the Raiders is, admittedly, a bit of a surprise. The Dolphins will now dress three rookie wide receivers: Caleb Douglas, Chris Bell, and Kevin Coleman Jr. Just two veteran players join them: Malik Washington and recent addition to the roster Ryan Miller.
Tolbert didn’t make the most of his opportunities this offseason and summer. And now he’s paying the price for a disappointing camp by missing today’s game. Miami must hope their rookie pass catchers are ready to rock and roll. If not? Well, the growing pains will be hard to miss.
Among the other decisions for Miami, four recent additions via waiver claims are also not dressing. Those players are TE Justin Joly, OL Chukwuebuka Godrick, CB Reese Taylor, and QB Brady Cook. And, finally, sixth-round rookie OG DJ Campbell is also inactive today. Miami bolstered the rest of their game day roster yesterday when it was announced that they were elevating veteran EDGE Clelin Ferrell onto the roster for today’s game as well.
