One of the heavy hitters in the NFL Draft space has a shocking development for the Miami Dolphins in his final 2026 mock draft
One of the final mock drafts from a heavy-hitting NFL Draft expert has a stunning development available for the Miami Dolphins.
You think you know what’s going to happen. But you never really do. The NFL Draft is like that. And for the Miami Dolphins, who will spend this weekend making approximately a dozen picks, it sets the stage for some shock and drama.
The time for mock drafts is just about up, and it’s time for the real thing. But one of the last mock drafts to trickle in, one from The Athletic’s Dane Brugler, has a development playing out that we haven’t really been considering.
Dane Brugler mocks Ohio State linebacker Sonny Styles to the Miami Dolphins at No. 11

It feels like Miami Dolphins fans have pretty much given up on the idea of landing Ohio State Buckeyes linebacker Sonny Styles. The NFL Combine was a showcase event for the star linebacker, and it had promptly elevated him into the upper stratosphere of the first round projections for this year’s draft.
Brugler, in the midnight hour, has strapped together a mock draft for tonight’s first round and shockingly has Styles falling into Miami’s lap at No. 11 overall.
“Given the needs on Miami’s roster, I don’t think there is a need here that would be too surprising. Jeff Hafley didn’t coach Styles when he was the defensive coordinator for the Buckeyes, but he is close with the Ohio State staff, and Miami linebackers coach Al Washington (also a former Buckeyes coach) has known Styles since high school.”

On the Miami Dolphins drafting Sonny Styles in his final mock draft
The question isn’t whether or not Sonny Styles should be drafted by the Dolphins. It’s whether or not the standout linebacker has any chance at all to fall to Miami’s pick. Brugler obviously seems to think so, which would be a potential domino effect of the Cardinals possibly drafting a running back and No. 3 overall.
Styles, paired with LB Jordyn Brooks, would instantly give this Miami Dolphins defense a fresh identity. The value would be simply too good to be true, too. Styles is my No. 1 ranked player in this year’s class for the Dolphins.
So here’s to Brugler’s forecast proving true tonight. I, for one, would like to see it.
