Save the date: The Miami Dolphins’ joint practice schedule just dropped
We now know who and WHEN the Miami Dolphins will hold joint practices this summer.
We have known for weeks that the Miami Dolphins are going to be holding joint practices with two NFC East opponents this summer. It’s been reported going back to the team’s offseason program, and since confirmed by Jeff Hafley, the Miami will compete with both the Commanders and the Giants.
Hafley made sure to specify, too, that the joint sessions would be standalone events. Miami is not double-dipping on any of their practice sessions to allow them to keep ‘the main thing, the main thing’. As the saying goes. When are these practices going down? We now know.
The dates for the Miami Dolphins’ joint practices with the Commanders and Giants have been revealed
The Miami Dolphins will be in Ashburn, VA to practice against the Washington Commanders on August 12th. Eight days later, on August 20th, they’ll be at the Baptist Health Training Complex in Miami Gardens and hosting the New York Giants for a joint practice, too.
The joint practice schedule this year could best be described as “robust” and Miami is certainly getting their bite of the action with their two sessions against two teams in very different situations. The Dan Quinn-led Commanders are entering into Year 3 and looking to recapture their magic from the 2024 season. Meanwhile, the New York Giants are in their first year with John Harbaugh at the helm. They’re seeking a big breakthrough after a decade of frustration.
Miami, in their own right, should cherish their opportunities to measure competition against some fresh faces. It’s going to be difficult to gauge where Miami is at early in training camp amid so many new faces and so many moving parts. The joint practices are the pallet cleanser. And now we know when they’ll be. So save the date and prepare accordingly.
