The Miami Dolphins’ most exclusive financial club doesn’t include any of their 2026 big contract signings
The Miami Dolphins have given out three veteran contracts worth at least $50 million in total value this offseason. All three failed to provide one thing.
The spending has been tight in 2026 for the Miami Dolphins. But not non-existent.
Despite the team offloading major contracts and stacking up record-setting dead cap figures, Miami has managed to hand out a few significant contracts. Quarterback Malik Willis got one valued up to $67.5 million. Running back De’Von Achane’s is worth up to $68 million. And center Aaron Brewer’s new deal is worth up to $52.5 million. But those three deals have not put any of those three players into one of the roster’s most exclusive financial clubs.
Neither De’Von Achane, Aaron Brewer among select few Miami Dolphins with 2028 fully guaranteed salary

The name of the game is 2028 fully-guaranteed salary.
With the details around Aaron Brewer’s three-year extension published this week, we can now finally sink our teeth into the third of this regime’s big deals. And while Brewer does have some of his 2028 salary that is “practically guaranteed”, he has no 2028 salary that is guaranteed at signing. Brewer must wait until March of 2028 for $4.425 million of that year’s compensation to become fully-guaranteed.
Achane’s contract offers him injury guarantees in 2028 at signing. But he has no fully-guaranteed 2028 salary at signing in his $64 million extension, either. Achane will see $3 million of his 2028 salary become fully guaranteed in March of 2027, then another $7 million guarantee in March of 2028.
Willis’ three-year deal with the Dolphins fully-guarantees him both his 2026 and 2027 compensation. But he has no guarantees of any kind f0r 2028. That includes injury guarantees, practical guarantees, or full guarantees.
So who DOES have fully-guaranteed salary for the 2028 season as of right now? This is the most exclusive financial club on the 2026 Miami Dolphins roster:
- DT Kenneth Grant: $3,834,042 fully guaranteed in 2028
- OL Kadyn Proctor: $3,259,556 fully guaranteed in 2028
- CB Chris Johnson: $2,615,952 fully guaranteed in 2028
- OG Jonah Savaiinaea: $2,383,974 fully guaranteed in 2028
- LB Jacob Rodriguez: $1,940,168 fully guaranteed in 2028
That’s it! That’s the club!
Achane will join the group in March of next year. But otherwise, it’s the high draft selections of the past two seasons. It underscores just how much of a blank slate this regime is rolling into the future with after this offseason’s clean sweep. And how even amid their big contracts this offseason, there’s not much long-term guarantees tied up beyond next season, either.
