The Minnesota Vikings are set to take on the New Orleans Saints on Sunday afternoon, and it’s set to be a really interesting game.

In Minnesota, the Vikings are dealing with issues on the offensive side of the ball. Quarterback Kyler Murray has flashed brilliance, but there has been zero consistency. The good news for the Vikings is that Justin Jefferson is getting close to returning from the ankle injury he suffered against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Meanwhile, the Saints are dealing with a lot of injuries as well, and are coming off of a 45-24 loss on Monday Night Football. What does the first injury report look like? Well, it’s hefty.

Observations

  • Jefferson getting back onto the field is a massive win for the Vikings. You know he really wants to play in his home state of Louisiana.
  • I would be surprised to see Darrisaw play on Sunday. The Vikings will have two weeks between Sunday’s game and their next game against the Indianapolis Colts. After how he suffered back-to-back concussions in 2022 likely due to coming back too soon.
  • Addison missing practice with what head coach Kevin O’Connell called “soreness” is concerning. Thursday is going to tell us a lot about how serious we should take this.

Observations

  • The two that stand out here are Olave and Shough. The former appeared to get hurt on the final drive with the Saints down 28, but he seems to be good-to-go. Shough hurt his non-throwing hand during the game, which isn’t great, but doesn’t seem like an issue.
  • A lengthy injury report for the Saints, and it could play a huge factor on Sunday.
