Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson got the biggest piece of motivation going into the 2026 season on Monday morning. The NFL’s Top 100 just placed Jefferson on their list, and it’s not where he should be. He ranked 19th in the NFL.

Yes, his contemporaries voted him the 19th best player in the NFL. Think about that for a second, and let it sink in how absurd it is.

Justin Jefferson ranks 19th in NFL Top 100

It’s wild to see how low Jefferson ranks in the NFL Top 100, his lowest ranking since 2021, where he ranked 53rd. He has finished in the top 100 after every season he’s been in the league.

  • 2021: 53rd
  • 2022: 17th
  • 2023: 2nd
  • 2024: 18th
  • 2025: 10th

It’s wild to see Jefferson be viewed this way by his peers, especially since the majority of Jefferson’s issues last season weren’t his fault. The quarterback position was brutal for the Vikings last season, with J.J. McCarthy, Carson Wentz, and Max Brosmer playing very poorly. It led to the worst 17-game season of Jefferson’s career, with just 84 catches for 1,048 yards and two touchdowns. There were a myriad of issues with the quarterbacks that led to Jefferson having an uncharacteristic amount of drops and lack of success in the red zone.

This season, the Vikings have gone out of their way to improve things at quarterback by signing Kyler Murray and naming him the starting quarterback. We’ve already seen dividends on that on the first drive of the preseason, as Murray operated the offense on schedule and at a high level.

Make no mistake about it: Jefferson is going to be motivated by being ranked so low by his peers. With Murray at his disposal, don’t be surprised if this is his best season yet.
