The New Orleans Saints got some rough news on Saturday. According to TMZ Sports, tight end Jimmy Graham was arrested in Southern California on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance Friday night. 

The Saints are in California in preparation for their second preseason game this Sunday against the Chargers. 

TMZ Sports has learned … law enforcement responded to a call for a suspicious person acting erratically near a Southern California resort… At the scene, cops claim they witnessed Graham walking in the streets … and they attempted to arrest him, but he resisted. — TMZ Sports

The veteran tight end was taken into custody for suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance and resisting, delaying and obstructing a police officer. Both of those are misdemeanors. 

Graham was released from custody, and the incident is now under investigation. 

The Saints just released their statement regarding the situation. They noted that Graham 'experienced a medical episode last evening.' Graham was taken into custody then taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
