The final roster cutdown date is Sunday at 6 p.m. ET, and Pittsburgh had only about $2 million in effective cap space before the restructure. That’s simply not how the Steelers operate. Some teams will go into the season right up against the cap. Pittsburgh prefers financial flexibility heading into the regular season, and this restructure was always coming.
