NFL teams always have to spend a decent chunk of their focus preparing for the future.

Sure, it may be nice to spend a lot of your time trying to find ways to compete in the present, but that isn't always an option for some teams, including the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of 2023.

This team could be scrappy and find some wins in a very weak NFC South, but there are times where it helps to know that the odds are very long to do anything outside of the regular season.

The Bucs are obviously doing everything in their power to stay relevant now, but the team also needs to look towards the future, and that is exactly what they are doing when they interview Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker.

Love him or hate him, Hooker is going to do just about everything to back up your perception of him.

Age and a bad injury make it so that his detractors are right about his red flags, but good athleticism and some quality throws on a great team also have their own ways of backing up the supporters.

Regardless, the Bucs are doing their due diligence, and it makes sense given where they are at with their quarterbacks and where they will be picking.

Hendon Hooker at 19 wouldn't be the craziest move the Buccaneers have ever made.

Whether or not it would work out is a completely different story.
