The Philadelphia Eagles won on Thursday Night Football against the Houston Texan to improve to 8-0, but it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows.

One player had somewhat of a bad game, and it’s a guy that never has bad games like that.

Offensive lineman Jordan Mailata, who is one of the best in the league at what he does, had a few slip-ups last week against the Texans. Mailata gave up two sacks and four pressures in Week 9.

It’s safe to say Mailata didn’t have the game he wanted, and he was in fact upset about it. But his quarterback let him know he still has trust in him.

“No need to be down, just, you know, focus on your techniques. Focus on what we have all been coached to do and try and go out there and do it,” Hurts said.

“I have all the trust in the world in every guy on the field, and they know that, and I’m glad to see Jordan [Mailata] look me in the eyes and have that same trust in me. It’s dependability as a team and as a ball club, I think.”

That is exactly why Hurts is wearing the captain patch in just his second full season as a starting quarterback. He doesn’t let his teammates get down, because he knows what they are capable of.

Even when it’s an anomaly of a game for Mailata, Hurts knows he is still okay behind him.

Mailata had just two total sacks allowed before last Week. He is really one of the better left tackles in the league, and it is obvious Hurts knows that too.
