During the NFL offseason, plenty of players get involved with other sports. For New Orleans Saints star running back Alvin Kamara, he got to be a cool part of an MLB game on July 4th weekend. Ahead of the Chicago Cubs-St. Louis Cardinals game, Kamara got a shot to show off his pitching ability.

Kamara got the honor of throwing out the pregame first pitch. It's a tall task with a ton of pressure involved. Just ask anyone who has ever thrown out a first pitch ahead of an MLB matchup.

Alvin Kamara's first pitch blunder at MLB game

The veteran RB wasn't happy with his first pitch that bounced to the plate in an ugly fashion. That wasn't what he wanted his performance on the diamond to be remembered as, so he pushed for a redo.

He got it, too. Kamara followed up the first pitch with a much better attempt on his second go.

It's also worth noting that Kamara was rocking a Cubs jersey. We've never really known his fandom for a baseball team, but that may have been some notable insight into it. Luckily for New Orleans, the Saints won't have to worry about Kamara finding a new job in the big leagues to exit the NFL.

For the fan favorite offensive playmaker, hopefully this wasn't a demonstration for how the Saints season will go. Starting off with a comical fail like Kamara did may put New Orleans too far behind the eight ball for a return to the postseason.
