The Florida Gators had a tremendous recruiting weekend in Gainesville this weekend.
Head coach Billy Napier and the Gators hosted their third and final major recruiting weekend of the summer and it landed the three commiments.
- Four-star running back Carsyn Baker
- Four-star wide receiver Marquez Daniel
- Four-star defensive lineman JaReylan McCoy
It's been quite a month for the Gators, having landed eight total recruits over the course of the first 14 days in June. That momentum is likely to continue throughout the summer, including three-star offensive tackle Tyler Chukuyem, who is set to make his decision on Monday.
Among those they hosted over the weekend is consensus four-star edge rusher Trenton Henderson. While 247 Sports has Henderson as a five-star, he is the 59th overall player and 11th-ranked edge rusher per the On3 Sports Industry Ranking, grading out as an elite player.
The Gators made a really big impression with the program "surging to the top" of his list and is "my school to beat", but what really stood out is how much time Henderson spent posting on Twitter/X about the program.
Despite being from Pensacola, Henderson hadn't been on campus before this weekend. He had been to Auburn a total of four times and had taken an official visit there, along with LSU and Michigan. Henderson still has an official visit scheduled with USC next weekend and with Florida State at the end of August when week one hits.
His presence with McCoy on the edge would be excellent for Napier on the defensive side of the football. That duo could wreak havoc for years in the SEC. Plus, neither player would likely need to contribute immediately with hte sheer depth the Gators have on the defensive line.
His recruitment is currently wide open, with the Gators sitting fifth in the On3 Sports Recruiting Prediction Machine, but first place Auburn only has 25.8%. They put themselves firmly in the mix, and that could resonate in a commitment over the next six months.
