The NFL decided to go into a whirlwind on Sunday evening. Between massive extensions, trades, and new signings, everyone was seemingly starting the next week of moves a bit early.

The Los Angeles Chargers have not made any notable additions quite yet, but some could be on the horizon after a couple notable WR moves.

DK Metcalf traded, Davante Adams signs

Now former Seattle Seahawks DK Metcalf, a trade candidate for the Chargers, is headed to the Pittsburgh Steelers in a trade. Davante Adams signed with the Los Angeles Rams on a two-year deal, following his release from the New York Jets.

Clearly, Chargers linebacker Daiyan Henley was a bit hopeful that his team would make a deal for Metcalf, a perennial standout wideout during his Seattle days.

Those two WR moves could really shift the plans for multiple receiver-needy teams during free agency and the 2025 NFL Draft. The Chargers fit in that category.

Chargers could reunite with Keenan Allen

With a free agent wide receiver group that lacks some top-end talent, a few veterans could be the most notable options for Jim Harbaugh's team. Keenan Allen, a former Chargers Pro Bowler and fan favorite, has already expressed interest in a potential return to Los Angeles.

The fit makes a ton of sense for the Chargers and Allen, and Justin Herbert absolutely needs an improvement in weapons this offseason.

Allen's market may include a handful of teams, and a return to the Chicago Bears could be on the table, too.

That being said, the signing of Adams for the Rams could take them out of the running. Another west coast team, the San Francisco 49ers, could be a legitimate option for his services as well.

Regardless, the Chargers will probably get their chance to bring back Allen. It would probably be a smart move, with multiple dominoes already falling at the wide receiver position elsewhere.
