Everything to know about the Chiefs' draft picks
The two picks acquired in trades with the Titans and Panthers come from trades involving CB L'Jarius Sneed and WR Ihmir Smith-Marsette, respectively.
The two compensatory picks were awarded to the Chiefs for the losses of LB Willie Gay Jr. and S Mike Edwards in the 2024 NFL free agency cycle. Edwards was not initially eligible based on his contract. Still, his playing time pushed him into the final eligibility tier for a seventh-round pick.
The picks the Chiefs already traded away from the 2025 NFL draft include:
Round 5 No. 167 to the Titans for WR DeAndre Hopkins.
Round 6 No. 207 to Jets for WR Mecole Hardman.
Round 7 No. 247 to Cowboys for TE Peyton Hendershot.
Round 7 No. 225 to Cardinals for DE Cam Thomas.
The Chiefs hold four top-100 picks and the final pick in the 2025 NFL draft at 257 overall. We'll see if Veach manages to hold onto the picks or if he'll use a few of them to move around and be selective. As things currently stand, the Chiefs' 90-man offseason roster is up to nearly 60 players with all the latest free agency moves. They have some work to do to fill out the roster for the 2025 NFL offseason.
Chiefs’ 2025 NFL free agency loss of S Justin Reid means the promotion of an ascending young player is all but certain
The writing was on the wall that this change was coming for the Kansas City Chiefs.
