The Ohio State Buckeyes have really taken off with their 2026 recruiting as of late.
Landing a commitment from five-star S Blaine Bradford was big to start the week, then five-star WR Chris Henry Jr. announced he was shutting down his recruitment. On Thursday, the Buckeyes picked up a commitment from four-star safety Simeon Caldwell to keep things rolling.
Now, the Buckeyes have made the top school list for one of their big running back targets who would be a great addition to the class.
2026 Four-star RB Carsyn Baker included the Buckeyes in his final five schools. Baker included Clemson, Georgia, South Carolina, and Florida State.
The talented running back from Langston Hughes (GA) is set to take an official visit to Columbus on June 13. Baker is the No. 175 player in the country and the No. 14 running back, according to 247 Sports Composite.
During his junior football season, Baker was impressive with 1,282 yards on 145 touchdowns and 14 rushing touchdowns. Additionally, Baker caught nine passes for 89 receiving yards.
Ohio State doesn’t have a running back committed yet after taking three in the 2025 class. After losing TreVeyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins to the NFL, James Peoples and West Virginia transfer CJ Donaldson figure to lead the room. Freshman Bo Jackson has the best chance to make an impact as a newcomer.
Florida State looks to be a real player in this recruitment and could be the team to watch. Baker figures to decide before his senior season at Langston Hughes.
Ohio State’s 2025 commitments:
- WR Chris Henry Jr.
- S Blaine Bradford
- OT Max Riley
- S Simeon Caldwell
- CB Jakob Weatherspoon
- OT Sam Greer
- WR Jaeden Ricketts
- TE Corbyn Fordham
- OL Tucker Smith
