Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs have won the recruiting race to land the nation's top 2026 quarterback recruit, Jared Curtis.

Curtis officially announced his decision between Georgia and the Oregon Ducks, ultimately choosing to sign with the Bulldogs on May 5.

"Grateful! 100% Committed. See y’all in Athens," Curtis wrote on X/Twiter with a highlight video.

Curtis initially committed to Georgia but chose to explore other options back in October. He is the No. 3 overall prospect in On3's 2026 Class Rankings, No. 1 at the quarterback position, and No. 1 QB in the state of Tennessee.

The 6-foot-4, 220-pound rising senior led his Nashville high school football team to a 13-1 record and a state title after completing 70 percent of his passes for 2,830 yards with 40 touchdowns and three interceptions during the 2024 regular season. He also added another 637 yards and 18 scores on the ground. Curtis was named the 2024 Gatorade Tennessee Football Player of the Year for his outstanding efforts.

Georgia snagging Curtis (again) isn't all too surprising since coach Smart was rumored to "let it rip" when it came to NIL spending on Georgia's 2026 recruiting class and the NCAA transfer portal.

"I think this is truly the recruiting cycle where we see Kirby Smart and Georgia kind of let it rip a little bit more on the NIL front," On3's Vice President and college football insider Steve Wiltfong said in March. "I think when he talked to some people, I think he was a little, to a certain degree, I think he thought that people were full of shit at how much they were actually getting, and that Georgia was winning with the way that they were recruiting and developing players internally.

"But to have some misses on the recruiting trail and know that those misses were purely because of NIL, I think we're seeing Georgia arming up in that arena more than ever in 2026."

Smart did, in fact, not mess around missing on this QB commit.
