The Indianapolis Colts added eight players in the 2025 NFL Draft.
One of them was edge rusher JT Tuimoloau in the second round, fresh off him winning a national championship with Ohio State. He now joins the Colts with a real chance at carving out a significant role as a rookie and has plenty of upside to become a future starter. Before he does that, though, he has to decide what number he wants to represent the horseshoe in. I looked at his options, came up with the best four numbers he should consider, and gave my opinion on which number he should ultimately pick.
Best numbers for JT Tuimoloau to consider
JT Tuimoloau
Best options for Tuimoloau:
15

54

93

96

Number he should choose: 54
Like Tyler Warren, Tuimoloau won't get the number he wore in college, 44. Zaire Franklin already owns it, and if he were willing to move off of it, Warren would undoubtedly have first dibs. And to be honest, 44 for an edge rusher just sounds ugly at the pro level anyway.
Luckily for Tuimoloau, I think there are some great options for him to consider. Of the four mentioned above, I think 54 and 96 are his best options. Neither have all-time greats already associated with them, like 93 does with Dwight Freeney, for example. 54 has recently become available, with Dayo Odeyingbo leaving the team in free agency, and it is pretty close to Tuimoloau's college number. And I may be biased, but I've always liked seeing edge rushers rock numbers in the 50s.
Best jersey numbers that Colts TE Tyler Warren should consider wearing during his rookie season with 44 not being available
The Indianapolis Colts added eight players in the 2025 NFL Draft. Of course, the headliner of the class was their first-round pick, Tyler Warren, the star TE out of Penn State. Landing a TE who wore 44 sends fans straight down memory lane to Dallas Clark making plays repping the horseshoe. Warren won't be able […]
The NFL should consider doing Indianapolis a solid to soften the blow of a future mistake of taking something from the city
The 2025 NFL Draft has come and gone, and Green Bay, Wisconsin, did a fantastic job hosting the event. The next two locations for the draft are now known. Pittsburgh is set to host in 2026, and the NFL has announced that the nation's capital will host the event in 2027. There are multiple deserving cities that […]
