Mike Tomlin ended the 2024 Pittsburgh Steelers season in one of the more disappointing addresses of his career on Tuesday.

Looking sad, distraught and befuddled at times during the final Tomlin Tuesday of the 2024-2025 season, Coach T was less confident and verbose than usual.

But when asked about the recent rumors involving his name and a trade to another team, Tomlin's eyes lit up…

Mike Tomlin tells teams not to waste their time trying to trade for him

"I have no message," said Coach Tomlin when asked about what he would tell teams pursuing him via trade. "Don't waste your time."

The question stemmed from a report that ESPN's Adam Schefter gave a little over a week ago on Sunday NFL Countdown, where he stated that at least one team had interest in acquiring coach Tomlin via trade.

“I think there are going to be teams out there that have watched the way that the Pittsburgh Steelers season has ended and wonder whether they should call the Steelers to see if they should inquire about whether the Steelers would be willing to move on from Mike Tomlin and move him to another organization," said Adam Schefter…

"…I don’t think Pittsburgh will do that. That’s not what they’ve been about and there’s no indication that they would. But I do think there are teams wondering if they should lob in a call just to see if they could stir Pittsburgh’s interest.”

That left many to ponder what Tomlin would fetch in terms of draft capital, with former NFL scouts going as far to say a team like the Chicago Bears would be wise to trade a top-10 pick for Coach T

"You know what the Chicago Bears would do for Mike Tomlin?" Asked former NFL scout John Middlekauff on his 3 & Out Podcast. "Would you part ways with your top 10 pick? I would sure think long and hard about it. Because these five and six-win seasons, no matter how much talent you have, suck. And the one thing you know, Mike basically guarantees you, (which is no longer good enough for the Steelers) winning 9-10 games and never going under 500. You know what the Chicago Bears would do to just every year go 10-7? So would they trade their first-round pick? I would, I mean, I would immediately."
