It all finally came together for Ryan Day in 2024 as a head coach of the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Day has led the Buckeyes to the big game previously but the Buckeyes got the job done this go around. The run that Ohio State just went on that was capped off with a National Championship win over Notre Dame won’t be forgotten.
However, it is going to be on to the next page rather quickly for the Ohio State program. The Buckeyes have the same two goals in 2025; Beat Michigan and compete for a title.
Ohio State celebrated their title win on Sunday at Ohio Stadium and Ohio State president Ted Carter revealed he is already looking to next season.
“I want to tell you how much I’m looking forward to 2025. Because we are not done,” Carter stated.
It will be a new era for Ohio State in 2025 with a different starting quarterback for a fourth straight season. Julian Sayin figures to be the starter next season, though Ohio State may not name one in the spring. Will Howard is off to the NFL with a large group of Buckeyes that are expected to get drafted. Ohio State will have a starting lineup littered with new faces next season.
It was year No. 6 that it all came together for Day. Now that he has the big win under his belt, Ohio State is working on a contract extension for the head coach who is 70-10.
"We’re working on it. We don't have any announcements yet, but we have intent.” Carter said, via Eleven Warriors. “I know Ryan wants to stay here, so we’re working the details.”
Ryan Day and Ohio State lose DC Jim Knowles to a rival Big Ten team after National Championship
Unfortunate for the Buckeyes.
