The Detroit Lions lost one their best position coaches earlier this week when defensive line coach Terrell Williams left to take the New England Patriots defensive coordinator job with his old pal Mike Vrabel.

The Lions have apparently wasted no time replacing him. They're reportedly expected to hire Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive line/ run game coordinator Kacy Rodgers to be their new defensive line coach.

This will not be the first time Dan Campbell and Rodgers work together. Rodgers was on the Dallas Cowboys coaching staff when Campbell played there from 2003 to 2005. Rodgers was then with Campbell on the coaching staff in Miami as well.

Rodgers is from the Bill Parcels coaching tree as is Campbell. He's tended to follow Todd Bowles around and was Bowles' defensive coordinator when they were together with the New York Jets.

Rodgers has been coaching defensive lines in the NFL for 22 years and this is a very good get to replace Williams. Recently Rodgers has been big with the Buccaneers vaunted defensive line and has helped Vita Vea become the player he has become.
