"Defense wins championships" may sound cliche, but it couldn't be more true, especially for the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Eagles are en route to their second conference championship in three seasons after pulling off a 28-22 win over the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday afternoon, with a special thanks to their defense.

While several Eagles defenders put up solid performances against Matthew Stafford and LA, comparing them to Jalen Carter's game-wrecking night would be hard.

Carter finished the game logging five tackles, three quarterback hits, two sacks, a pass breakup, and a forced fumble. His biggest play of the game was a sack on 3rd-and-2 from the Eagles' 13-yard line with 1:14 left in the fourth quarter.

That crucial sack ended the Rams' final drive and sealed the Eagles' victory.

"Oh my gosh. That dude is just a monster. The best in the league," Eagles' All-Pro linebacker Zack Baun said of Carter after the game.

Perhaps the crazy part about the play is that Carter had spoken it into existence, according to running back Saquon Barkley.

"I talked to him on the sideline before that," Barkley said. "He looked in my eye and let me know he's going to make the play. He's one of the ones, so it was big."

The Eagles are now only one game away from the Super Bowl.

But first, they'll need to beat the Washington Commanders next Sunday at home in the NFC Championship.
