The New Orleans Saints are being forced to changes some plans. A coaching search is always a fluid process, and that's been proven true for the black and gold.

Originally, they were set to interview Mike Kafka on Tuesday and Anthony Weaver on Wednesday for their open head coach position. Aaron Glenn was also scheduled to interview on Wednesday, too.

Now, those specific days for more discussion with those candidates are not the same. There's been a delay for New Orleans.

Weather changes interview plans

Due to the snow and freezing temperatures in New Orleans and the surrounding areas, the Saints have rescheduled their in-person interviews for this week. They will have to postpone their coaching search process a bit due to the weather.

Mike McCarthy's interview still looms, but the details are unknown for it still. Both sides certainly still have interest, but they want to create a safe meeting in order for the interview to happen.

As for Glenn, he's interviewing for the New York Jets HC job on Tuesday. According to reports, there's a strong connection between him and the Jets. A deal could get done before he ever interviews again with the Saints.

Looking ahead

Unfortunately for the Saints, this weather is not going anywhere quickly. The heaviest snowfall has just begun, and the cold will stick around, causing slick roads, bridges, and other avenues of transportation. Many passages are already closed.

We will see how New Orleans navigates all of this weather to complete their HC hiring process.
