One of the most beloved figures in Indiana sports history is former Indianapolis Colts head coach Tony Dungy.
He led the Colts to a Super Bowl victory in 2006 and had an incredible 85-27 record in seven years with the team. He hasn't coached since 2008 and has since been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. And according to Al Weaver of "The Hill," Dungy's next career move could come in the political world.
The position Weaver is referencing is Michigan's senate seat due to current senator Gary Peters' announcement that he will be retiring and won't seek re-election in 2026. Dungy will turn 70 in October of this year and was born and raised in the state of Michigan and attended Parkside High School.
He is believed to be the greatest head coach in the history of the Colts franchise. He has gone on to be a pretty successful NFL analyst in his work with NBC. At this time, his name has only been mentioned by Weaver as someone his sources have said is "possible to run" for the senate seat in Michigan. But it seems that if Dungy is going to make a career change anytime soon, it could be away from the game of football and into politics.
