The Seattle Seahawks are still fighting for the NFC West championship, as they are currently tied with the Los Angeles Rams with an 8-6 record. They have been impressive since their Week 10 bye, with the team winning four of their past five.

However, the fan base still questionsthe Seahawks' realistic window for competing for a championship with Geno Smith as their quarterback. A new A to Z Sports mock draft has the Seahawks getting a start on their future as they look towards life after Geno Smith.

"The Seahawks have been linked to QBs during the last few draft classes but haven't decided to pull the trigger. With a few intriguing day two options in this class, I decided to have them take a chance on Ole Miss' Jaxson Dart. He had an up-and-down final year of college but has the arm talent that NFL decision-makers will try to talk themselves into."

New A to Z Sports mock draft

In the second round of A to Z Sports' new three-round mock draft, the Seahawks selected Ole Miss' QB Jaxson Dart. Dart led the SEC with 3,875 yards and a 68.6 completion percentage. He also led the FBS with 10.7 yards per attempt, and his arm talent will gain some fans across the NFL.

He isn't a perfect QB prospect by any means, which is why he's being projected to hear his name on day two of the 2025 NFL Draft and not the first round. There would be no pressure on the Seahawks to start Dart right away, and it would allow Smith to continue under center while also having an option they can develop for the future to take over when the time is right potentially. Dart's ability to push the ball downfield should be a hit with Seahawks WRs DK Metcalf and Jaxon Smith-Njigba as they attempt to build a long-term picture of what they want their offense to be.
