Titans knew it was coming, and the Colts still ran the ball down their throats
During post-game locker room interviews, Colts tight end Mo Alie-Cox shared an interaction he heard between Titans defenders about their struggles to stop the Colt's running game.
"It's hilarious because we went out there, and they were like, 'Oh, it's a screen!' And then one of the DEs was like, 'Man, they're about to give it to Jonathan Taylor. He 'bout to run for 300 on us. Once he said that, I was like, 'Yeah, we got 'em."
– Mo Alie Cox to James Boyd of The Athletic
Alie-Cox shared that he heard a Titans defensive end say that Taylor was going "to run for 300 on us." Taylor didn't quite live up to the Titans player's expectations. But he did finish with every strong outing, putting up 218 yards and three touchdowns on 29 carries.
Two of his touchdowns were from 50+ yards out, and to the delight of the Colts and their fans, both stayed in his hands across the goal line this week. He truly couldn't have had a better bounce-back performance to try to make up for his mistake a week ago. While it may have led to a rough day for the Titans and their players, Colts fans and anyone with Taylor in fantasy this week couldn't be happier.
