Anthony Richardson did something in the Colts Week 13 win that Andrew Luck was never able to accomplish
Entering Week 13, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson had the opportunity to do something no QB on the Colts has done since 2006. Entering Week 13, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson had the opportunity to do something no QB on the Colts has done since 2006.
And he accomplished it as the Colts picked up the Week 13 win over the New England Patriots. This means Richardson has officially done something former Colts QB Andrew Luck was never able to do during his NFL career.
Anthony Richardson's late-game heroics gave the Colts a big win, ending their nearly two-decade-long losing streak in Foxborough at Gillette Stadium the home of the Patriots. Their last win in Gillette Stadium came in 2006, with Hall of Famer Peyton Manning leading the Colts' offense on the day. Since that game, the Colts have lost seven straight road regular-season matchups against the Patriots.
With the team having had so many quarterbacks over the years, multiple QBs have tried and failed to end the streak. The most notable, of course, is former Colts number-one overall pick, Andrew Luck. Luck finished his career 0-4 against the Patriots in the regular season and 0-6 if you include the playoffs.
Therefore, Richardson's winning the game no matter the location accomplished something that Luck was never able to do. Him doing it on the road in a stadium that has caused the team so much trouble over the years is icing on the cake. One curse down, and hopefully, the Colts can get their Week 1 and Jacksonville curses off their backs come 2025. For now, though, we can celebrate the big win that was capped off with a long touchdown drive and two-point conversion by Richardson to give the Colts the win in regulation.
The Colts found a new starter off the streets and he earned the job for the rest of the season in Week 13
Against all odds, the Indianapolis Colts picked up the last-second win over the New England Patriots in Week 13 to improve to 6-7 on the year. Ahead of this game, the Colts decided to start a player they signed off the streets to their practice squad, and it was a familiar face from their past: […]

Shane Steichen […]
