The Indianapolis Colts couldn't pull off the upset in Week 12 over the Detroit Lions.
While their offense struggled to get into any form of rhythm during the game, one player showed up in a big way. And what makes this performance even sweeter is that the player has been struggling on the field due to an injury he is playing through.
This week's Colts player of the week is wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr.
Colts Week 12 Player of the Week: WR Michael PIttman Jr.

The year hasn't gone as Pittman Jr. would have liked. He finds himself third on the team in receiving yards with 412 and has only found the endzone twice. He has been nursing a back injury that he chose to play through even though many believed he was heading to the IR earlier this season. As a result, he has had some rough outings. In Weeks 8 and 9, he combined for two catches for 30 yards before he took a week off to help his injury heal.
He returned in Week 11, and though it wasn't a great game by any means, he was much more impactful, hauling in five catches for 46 yards. This leads us to Week 12, where Pittman had his best game since Week 4 of this season. He led the team with six catches for 96 yards, and it felt like nearly every catch on the day was a big first-down conversion. Seeing Pittman be so ineffective before taking a week off was really brutal to watch. Seeing a player who has been so productive during his time repping the horseshoe play like a shell of himself wasn't good for anyone involved.
His big day in Week 12 may not have led to a Colts win, but it is very encouraging to see with each game remaining this season being so crucial for their playoff chances. Pittman Jr. looked like his pre-injury self in Week 12, and here's to hoping that continues going forward. Having their WR trio of Pittman Jr., Josh Downs, and Alec Pierce all playing at a high level down the stretch would be huge for both Anthony Richardson and the Colts' offense as a whole.
A Colts starter should be benched following his most recent poor performance in the team’s Week 12 loss to the Lions
The Indianapolis Colts had the tough task of slowing down the red-hot Detroit Lions in Week 12. A task they fell short of completing with them, dropping to 5-7 on the year due to a 24 to 6 loss. There will be a lot of talk about Richardson's completion percentage this week, but the blame […]
The Colts sign a familiar face from their past ahead of Week 12 with a young starter struggling in recent games
The Indianapolis Colts 2024 season seemed to be falling off the rails, with the team losing three in a row. But the decision to reinsert Anthony Richardson back as their starting quarterback and picking up a big win in Week 11 over the New York Jets seems to have given the team new life. Now they […]
