Despite not practicing for two days in a row, Washington Commanders Brian Robinson Jr. is on track to play against the Cleveland Browns, per head coach Dan Quinn, who also added he will be a game day decision.

That’s huge news, especially if it holds up. Robinson is the team’s leading rusher and he was No. 10 in the NFL in rushing yards ahead of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Atlanta Falcons matchup on Thursday Night Football. Robinson, himself, also tweeted a thumbs up on Friday, indicating he'll be good to go on Sunday.

The good news doesn’t stop there, either. Quinn also told reporters that the Commanders’ other running back, veteran Austin Ekeler, has cleared concussion protocol. So, he will be available on Sunday.

Ekeler has been solid in both the ground game and pass game. He’s also provided a spark on special teams via the kick return department. He had a touchdown called back due to penalty against the New York Giants and a 50+ yarder against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 3.

But Robinson Jr. is the key, here. The Commanders have one of the best inside running games in the NFL and it fits Robinson Jr.’s skillset wonderfully. He provides not just a spark, but he sets the tone with his hard running style.

That’s going to come in handy against a tough Browns front seven and defense, as a whole. As long as he plays, of course.

As for wide receiver Noah Brown and defensive end Clelin Ferrell, Quinn said both are out. He added that the team will make a decision on IR players Marcus Mariota, Jordan Magee, and Efe Obada over the weekend.

The final injury report heading into the weekend is as follows:

  • G Nick Allegretti (ankle) – Questionable
  • S Tyler Owens (shin) – Questionable
  • RB Brian Robinson Jr. (knee) – Questionable
  • WR Noah Brown (groin) – OUT
  • LB Jordan Magee (knee) – Doubtful
  • QB Marcus Mariota (pectoral) – Questionable
  • DE Efe Obada (tibula/fibula) – Doubtful
  • DE Clelin Ferrell (knee) – OUT

Linebacker Dominique Hampton, safety Quan Martin, defensive tackle Johhny Newton, cornerback Emmanuel Forbes Jr., and Ekeler do not have injury designations heading into the game.
