The Indianapolis Colts are coming off their worst offensive performances of the season, which directly led to their Week 9 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
That, paired with the heightened emotion surrounding the team and their fans following their decision to bench Anthony Richardson, has caused morale to be much lower than one would assume for a team just one game under .500.
So, in the effort to reach those individuals who are already looking to next season, check out the top defensive prospect the Colts landed in a recent first-round mock draft.
Colts land Michigan CB Will Johnson in a new mock draft

"Corner was a position mocked to the Colts a ton ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft. But they elected to go with edge rusher Laiatu Latu instead. So far this season, they have been using their 2023 7th-round pick Jaylon Jones and waiver wire addition Samuel Womack III as their starting boundary corners. Both have exceeded expectations, but for the future outlook of this defense and team, they need to find a true number-one guy at the position. And the clear best fit in this class to fill that role is Michigan CB Will Johnson."
The Colts have gotten solid play out of their starting boundary duo of Jaylon Jones and Samuel Womack III. However, the future outlook of their defense and CB room will improve drastically if one of those players becomes a key rotational CB. So, they should run the card in if they can draft a special CB prospect like Michigan's Will Johnson.
Johnson was a three-year starter at Michigan and was a major part of the defense that led to the team's 2023 national championship. He's appeared in 32 games and recorded 68 total tackles, ten pass deflections, and nine interceptions, three of which he returned for touchdowns. Due to an injury, he's going to miss time during what many believe will be his final collegiate season. But he's done more than enough to hear his name called in the top half of the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, and the Colts would be beyond fortunate to land him no matter where they end up selecting.
