The Colts' comeback win in Week 11 was the final straw for a member of the Jets who has now lost his job

The Indianapolis Colts picked up a needed win in Week 11 over the New York Jets, ending their longest losing streak of the season at three games.
To make it even more special, Anthony Richardson led a fourth-quarter comeback, with a game-winning two-minute drill operated to perfection to put the exclamation mark on it.
And while it was all smiles around the Colts side of this, that game ended up being the nail in Jets general manager Joe Douglas' coffin with the franchise.
Jets fire GM Joe Douglas after loss to the Colts
The Colts trailed 24 to 16 with 13:03 left in the fourth quarter. However, they outscored the Jets 12 to 3 to finish the game and came on top with a 28 to 27 win. It was an up-and-down day for both sides, but in the end, the Colts were victorious and moved to 5-6 on the season, and the Jets fell to 3-8 on the year. With their season likely over at this point, they fired GM Joe Douglas, which officially opens the team up to hiring a new GM and head coach after this season finally ends.
It's been a wild ride for the Colts. Just two weeks ago, after the team chose to bench Anthony Richardson, people were calling for head coach Shane Steichen and GM Chris Ballard to be fired. Now, Richardson has been re-inserted into the starting lineup, and they pick up the road win in New York, and the opposing team fires their GM as a result. Life moves fast in the NFL, and I think I speak for everyone covering and supporting the Colts when I say it feels better to be on the good side of this as opposed to where the Jets are now heading.

With 11 weeks of the 2024 NFL season over, the playoff race in both conferences is starting to take shape. The Colts find themselves on the outside looking in as the eighth […]
Colts QB Anthony Richardson proved that people couldn’t be more wrong about him and was rewarded for it
The last couple of weeks have been the lowest point of Anthony Richardson's young NFL career. The Indianapolis Colts made the controversial decision to bench their 2023 first-round pick. Many in the NFL questioned his effort during this time. In Week 11, though, he put up his best performance as a pro and helped lead the […]
