The Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver corps have been a mixed bag so far this season.

Rookie Xavier Worthy has made big plays, but has been inconsistent with route running and catching the ball. DeAndre Hopkins has been a difference maker since being acquired a month ago, but he was limited to three catches for 29 yards last week against the Buffalo Bills.

JuJu Smith-Schuster had a huge game against the New Orleans Saints back in Week 5, but proceeded to miss the next four games with a hamstring injury. He recorded just one catch for eight yards in his return against the Bills last week. While speaking to the media on Wednesday, Smith-Schuster spoke positively about Worthy's development.

"Man, that guy, he can do it all," Smith Schuster said. "Man, he can, you know, go deep, open up the field for a lot of us. And, you know, he also plays the short game too. So, as you can see, he's starting to get, you know, rolling and moving. So, it's nice to see that, you know, he's doing this thing, and excited to see what more comes from."

Worthy and quarterback Patrick Mahomes have had some chemistry issues over the last couple of weeks, but you have to remember that the two have only played 10 games together. The more they work, the stronger the connection they'll have. Smith-Schuster went on to talk about what it means to him to play alongside a successful veteran like Hopkins.

"It's been awesome, man," Smith-Schuster said. "It's been it's been cool. growing up, you know, a big D-Hop fan when he was in Houston. Being able to see him on the same team, he's a cool dude, man. Like, that veteran mentality, his mind, the way he works, the way he goes about, you know, his business. I always, always learn something new from him. So, it's pretty cool."

Hopkins may have had a quiet outing against Buffalo, but the Chiefs likely don't beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers or the Denver Broncos earlier this season without him. Like with Worthy, Mahomes' connection with Hopkins will only get stronger, and Hopkins will play a big role in the Chiefs' success.

As for Smith-Schuster, the key for him is to stay healthy. He's battled through numerous injuries over the last several years, but like he showed back in Week 5, he's still capable of producing at a high level. The combination of Worthy, Hopkins and Smith-Schuster is much better than what K.C. had to work with last year, and they still have plenty of time left in the season to gel and improve.

Also not to be forgotten, is the looming return of Hollywood Brown.
