The Minnesota Vikings have made their first wave of roster cuts ahead of Tuesday's roster cutdown deadline. The Vikings announced they have waived the following players:

  • QB Matt Corral
  • RB DeWayne McBride
  • RB Mo Ibrahim
  • WR Justin Hall
  • TE Sammis Reyes
  • TE Neal Johnson
  • OL Chuck Filiaga
  • OL Doug Nester
  • OL Matt Cindric
  • OL Spencer Rolland
  • OLB Owen Porter
  • DL Tyler Manoa
  • CB Jaylin Williams

On top of waiving the above players, the Vikings terminated the contract of CB A.J. Green II.

None of these cuts are much of a surprise, as all 14 didn't make my final 53-man roster prediction. The intriguing part of the cuts is who will make the practice squad. With a major part of the group being on the offensive line, it feels more likely one of them will end up on the practice squad. Nester would be my pick to make the practice squad out of that group with his guard/tackle flexibility.

There are still 28 more cuts left, as the Vikings need to go from 91 players to 53. Keep in mind that they don't have to be at exactly 53 players, they just can't be over it.
