The Las Vegas Raiders have had a special season from one player this season.

Josh Jacobs has been the best running back in football. After not working out a contract extension before the season, the Raiders are giving Jacobs a unique, meaningful nod that he deserves.

The Raiders are naming their star RB a team captain.

Jacobs is clearly a leader for the team.

His on-field production has been unbelievable as well. He's totaled 1748 total yards and 11 touchdowns. Jacobs has been absolutely dominant and extremely consistent for the Raiders. Even during the Raiders early offensive struggles, Jacobs was the bright spot.

He never wavered, and Las Vegas is rewarding him in a big way.

Now, it also creates an interesting situation for Jacobs and the Raiders. Jacobs is a free agent after this season as of right now.

With just about a month left of the regular season, the decision comes pretty late in the year. It's a clear confidence move in Jacobs by the staff and team.

The choice makes it seem like Las Vegas will be even more determined to bring Jacobs back in some form after this season.
